James Stegman has over 35 years of experience in all aspects of the practice of law. He has a general practice mostly involved with matters in court. A major portion of his practice is in the area of family law. The areas of practice include: contracts, insurance, personal injury, the purchase and sale of property and businesses, family matters including divorce, and post judgment issues including child support, custody, and parenting time. He is also experienced in workers compensation, automobile claims, and other property damage or personal injury claims.
He seeks to find practical solutions for clients quickly and simply when possible. Often a letter or telephone call can resolve many problems. If these measures are not successful then he will proceed with a lawsuit. He will pursue his client’s claims fully and aggressively.
He has experience in all of the courts in Michigan including successful decisions for his clients before Michigan District Courts, Circuit Courts, the Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court. He has also been successful in the Federal Courts including the Michigan Eastern and Western District Courts and the Sixth Circuit District Court of Appeals.
